New venue

The Community Centre is in the throes of changing ownership and it is not certain that the Club will be able to continue to hold its meetings there. Starting with the new 2019/2020 session, meeting will be at the Avenues Centre, Park Avenue, Hull HU5 4DF. Visitors will continue to be welcome - contact the Secretary for information.

Summer outing 2018

On a very hot Monday, 16th July, a group of members and a few husbands took a coach trip to Burton Agnes Hall, near Driffield. After coffee, by special arrangement we were greeted by a guide, who gave us a thoroughly enjoyable tour of the house giving us much interesting information about the house and the families owning it. After an excellent lunch everyone was free to explore the extensive grounds and the walled garden.

Summer outing

On a very hot Monday, 17th July, a group of members and a smattering of husbands took a coach trip to Doddington Hall, near Lincoln. After coffee and cakes, by special arrangement we were greeted by two guides, Alex and Vic, who gave us a thoroughly enjoyable tour of the house giving us much interesting information about the house and the families owing it since construction in 1600 as well as little snippets of gossip that added to the enjoyment. After lunch we were free to explore the kitchen garden and extensive lands.

Summer outing

On 2 July 2016 we were carried by coach to the great Country House of Castle Howard. A tour of the interior proved most interesting with very friendly and knowledgeable guides in all the rooms and the warm weather proved excellent for those who explored the extensive grounds. Lunch was taken in the Fitzroy Room and afternoon tea in the Courtyard Cafe - all in all a very enjoyable visit.

Change of Venue

After many happy years at the Ensleigh Centre, we were saddened to learn that it was to close. Our new venue is The Community Enterprise Centre on Cottingham Road, Hull HU5 2DH where we will continue to meet fortnightly on Tuesdays from September to April. Visitors will be very welcome, please contact our Secretary.
