Summer outing
Saturday 5 July 2014 saw a happy coach load of members and a sprinkling of guests cross the Humber to Epworth in Lincolnshire for a very enthralling visit to The Old Rectory - the former home of assorted members of the Wesley family. (In the 18th century, Charles Wesley and his followers broke away from the Church of England to found the Methodist movement). The grounds and gardens were also of interest and an excellent light lunch was laid on by a willing band of lady volunteers at the house. Afterwards, there was time for a stroll round the attractive village and on the way home a stop was made at an incredibly large Garden Centre at Brigg for afternoon refreshments.
